About Microsoft Copilot and ChatGPT

Microsoft Copilot:

  • Availability: Copilot is integrated into Microsoft 365 apps, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.

  • Access: To use Copilot, you need a Microsoft 365 subscription that includes the desktop apps.

  • Functionality: Copilot provides AI-powered assistance to enhance productivity across various Microsoft 365 applications.

ChatGPT:

  • File Uploads: ChatGPT allows users to upload and work with various document types, including Microsoft Word and Excel files.

  • Access: This capability is available to all ChatGPT Plus and ChatGPT Enterprise users on the web and mobile apps.

  • Custom GPTs: Specialist versions of ChatGPT trained to be experts in a specific area, such as our very own Event Planning Assistant by Event Kit.

Example AI prompts

  1. “Turn this risk register into a briefing note for my team.”

  2. “Write a vendor arrival email based on this vendor manual.”

  3. “Summarise this event timeline in 3 bullet points for my client.”

  4. “Turn this event budget into a description for a local council grant application.”

  5. “Draft a social media post for a gala event promoting this event brief.”

Tips for achieving better results

  • Don’t just ask “Can you fill this out?” → Instead, tell the AI what type of event it is and what you’re trying to achieve. AI struggles with a blank page. Structure gives AI the context it needs to actually be helpful.

  • AI works best when you feed it details — even if they're messy, unclear, or contain typos.

  • Chat with it like an assistant: it won’t get it right the first time, but it will get you 80% of the way there faster. It’s all about having the conversation and leading your AI to a final outcome.
