Hey there! I’m Rachella Thomas, and today I want to share the story of how Event Kit came to be. It’s a story of resilience, innovation, and a bit of serendipity that transformed a challenging moment into something extraordinary.

When the COVID-19 pandemic struck, the world was thrown into chaos, and the events industry took a massive hit. Festivals and events—my life’s work for over 24 years—were cancelled, and I found myself at a crossroads. With a career built on managing some of Victoria’s most celebrated events, like the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival and the Commonwealth Games' Queen Baton Relay, I wasn’t about to let this setback define me.

Instead of letting the pandemic's disruption bring me down, I saw it as a golden opportunity to pivot and adapt. With the events industry in turmoil, I knew there had to be a way to continue contributing, but on a broader scale.

So, I asked myself, “How can I share my knowledge with event planners everywhere, without the high price tag of traditional consulting?” That’s when the idea for Event Kit was born.
